The Nassau County Board is resurrecting the annual County Ball with a view toward returning it to its position as the premier Irish event to be held in Nassau each year.

This year the Ball will be held at the Irish American Center, 297 Willis Avenue, Mineola on Saturday evening, October 20th and will honor John O’Connell, Hibernian Digest National Editor.

The event tickets are priced at $65 per person but will be reduced to $60 per person if purchased by October 14th. The Ball will feature a full sit down dinner, open bar and dancing to Billy Keenan’s Primetime Show Band.

Wantagh July 4th Parade

As in past years, the Division will march in the July 4th parade which will step off from Park Avenue and Wantagh Avenue at 10:00AM. We will assemble in the parking lot behind Hemingway’s by 9:45AM, at the latest and we will again march behind the Nassau County Police Pipers.

Uniform for the day is tan slacks, green shirt, regular shoes (no sneakers) and, if you have them, beret and sash.

Please make every effort to be there if you can – we’re looking for the biggest turnout possible.

This year’s fishing trip will be from 7-11PM, on Saturday August 11th aboard the JIB VI sailing from Captree.

Food, beer and soda will be provided and the tariff will be:
Adults $50.00
Children $30.00

The trip is open to all so feel free to invite non-AOH member friends and relatives to join us.

The more the merrier and if we get enough response, we may get the whole boat to ourselves that evening.

Contact Rich O’Neill at 516-413-7862 to reserve space.
